Lineshaft Conveyor Belts
(Shaft Driven Belt)
on Blue Speedup Spool
Made from 100% pure virgin urethane (no regrind or blends), our cord costs more than cord containing regrind, but it typically lasts significantly longer and provides greater drive.
Standard 83A Line Shaft Belts (clear or orange color): Made from Cyclothane-A or Cyclothane-E. Standard diameters are 1/8" (3.2mm), 5/32" (4mm), 3/16" (4.8mm), .210" (5.3mm) , 6mm, 1/4" (6.3mm), 5/16" (8mm)and 3/8" (9.5mm), but other diameters are available. Stretched 10% to 12%. Our standard 3/16" belt moves boxes weighing up to 20 lbs/roller (9 kg/roller).
HT Blue Line Shaft Belt (High Tension, 85A): Made from Cyclothane-B. Standard diameters are 3/16" (4.8mm), .210" (5.3mm), 6mm, 1/4" (6.3mm) and 5/16" (8mm). Stretched 15% to 20% -- produces 30% more drive tension than standard line shaft belts. Our 3/16" HT blue belt, stretched 20%, moves boxes weighing up to 25 lbs/roller (11 kg/roller).
New: HEHT Black Lineshaft Belt (Highly Elastic, High Tension, 88A): Made from Cyclothane-A. Standard diameter 7/32" (5.6mm). Stretched 15% to 30%. Necks down to fit in 3/16" groove. Produces 70% to 90% more drive tension than standard Lineshaft belts. One sizes fits variable center distances. Ideal for regular and speedup spools. Lower installation tension makes it easy to install. Our 7/32" HEHT belts, stretched 24%, move boxes weighing up to 40 lbs/roller (18 kg/roller). Our 1/4" (6.3mm) HEHT Black belts, stretched 24%, move boxes weighing 55 lbs (25kg) and in some cased more (see Long Life HEHT belts) so they can double throughput by stacking boxes like the Super Red 90A belts below. However, they are made from domestic USA cord, whereas the 90A red cord is imported, so HEHT belts are often more readily available with quicker delivery.
Super Red 90A Line Shaft Belts: Made from 90A durometer Cyclothane-A. Standard diameters are 1/8", 5/32", 3/16", and 1/4" (3mm, 4mm, 5mm, and 6mm). Stretched 12% to 15% -- produces 70% to 100% more drive tension than standard line shaft belts. 3/16" (5mm) belt moves boxes weighing up to 36 lbs/roller (16 kg/roller. 1/4" (6mm) belt moves boxes weighing up to 50 lbs/roller (23 kg/roller).Can practically double your conveyor's capacity -- with comparable belt life. Also lets you nearly double throughput by stacking boxes. Ideal for merges and curves where extra drive is needed.
New: Our softening process reduces Super Red belts' initial tension, facilitating installation and eliminating the need to run-in belts over night. Be sure to specify "Softened". Without softening. the initial tension exerted by Super Red belts is so high that we recommend running-in the conveyor overnight without any accumulation. Excessive accumulation immediately after unsoftened belt installation could overheat the spools. In addition, these belts exert greater pressure on c-clips, which might cause weak ones to slip. To prevent this we recommend placing two c-clips on the downstream side of the spools. C-clips are not needed on the upstream side of the spools. See How to prevent c-clips from slipping
Rough Green 88A Lineshaft Belts: Made from 88A durometer Cyclothane-A. Standard diameters are 3mm, 4mm, 5mm and 6mm. Stretched 9% to 11%. Ideal for high speed applications (over 250 feet/min, 1.27 m/s), especially curves, where belts rub so hard against roller grooves that smooth belts tend to abrade. Their hard, rough surface makes them more abuse resistant. Harder cord also provides about 30% more drive than 83A belts. Note that their rough surface slips easier due to less surface contact, but there is no loss in driving force because standard lineshaft spools slip before the belts slip.
