This tool worked well in all our tests, but it is discontinued for lack of demand. You really only need it for rollers on short center distances like 2". Do not use a hook or pliers because they can overstretch and damage the belt. Instead, buy a steel shoehorn at Walmart. Put it in a vice and bend the end to conform to your roller diameter. Shoehorns are usually bent in an S-shape, which is uncomfortabelt for belt installing, so you may also try bening it in a C-shape like the picture below.
Round Belt Installer Tool
Installs elastic round belts quickly and easily.
A virtual necessity for installing (assembling) high tension belts (especially HEHT belts) on rollers with short center distances.
Helps ensure urethane belts will not be stretched beyond their elastic limit and damaged during installation.
Do NOT use with Low Temperature Hytrel belts, which must not be over stretched even a little.
Soft, comfortable hand grip.
Helps prevent soar fingers, hand and arm fatigue, as well as carpal tunnel problems.
Works like a shoehorn, but is C-shaped to prevent wrist strain. Shoehorns are straight or S-shaped.
Pays for itself the first time you use it.
Reasonably priced.
